Unfortunately, while Rigline was attempting to complete the spell, another batch of Merfolk attacked. Rigline was chosen to set off the depth charge, as he had the ability to heat metal in order to cause an explosion. The party set out at dawn, traveling by horse, to the first tunnel that needed to be drained. In the evening, The Fateful Eight presented the problem, and their proposed solution to the problem. He was not pleased that he wasn't consulted before the meeting was called, but the party smoothed things over and presented their ideas. The Fateful Eight then met with Christoff, the mayor of the town, owner of the thatchery, and Jolene's son. The flyers advertised the group as "The Fateful Eight". The party created some flyers to advertise a town meeting to discuss the missing goods issue. After resting for the night, the party did some shopping while Bodo Glimt negotiated for the use of Sam the smithy's forge to create depth charges.
